Two
old Afghan national flags are raised
over the Presidential Palace in
Kabul after a flag-raising
ceremony on February 5, 2002. Interim Afghan leader Hamid Karzai
was at the ceremony to raise Afghanistan's old national flag for
the first time since a 1973, which marked the beginning of 29
years of war.
The
Official flag of Afghanistan: Black represents the occupation of
foreigners, the Red represents the blood of freedom fighters, and
the Green represents freedom and Islam.
